When companies talk about automation assets, they often book them as QA cost. That underprices what those assets really are: reusable operational knowledge about how systems should behave under real conditions.
Automation = reusable operational knowledge. Scripts, models, and regression suites encode procedures, expected states, and failure modes. That is the same class of knowledge agents need to execute safely — not only to “test,” but to operate.
Treating test automation as disposable project work throws away a foundation for governed AI execution.
